Supporting Partners

The Bubwith Leisure & Sports Centre is run by volunteers and is kept going by the hard work of the voluntary committee, plus monies paid by user groups and importantly donations from local and regional businesses.

These donations have allowed the committee to raise standards – replace doors and windows, install  disabled toilets and of course the refurbished kitchen are a result of these donations.

During the summer we completed the refurbishment of the ladies and gents toilets. Grants we obtained from Garfield Weston, Bernard Sunley, and commuted sums from ERYC. Please see the photos here.

LEADER and FCC Community Foundation have enabled the major improvements we call Phase 1, the hall, by each donating in the region of £100,000. The process of financing has also been greatly helped by a major loan of £50,000 from the Co-operative Foundation, and a further grant from Bubwith Parish Council to support the lighting of the hall. Aside from the finance, we are delighted that we have enjoyed such a convivial working relationship with the main builder, Five Rise Contractors of Bingley, who father and son combination of David and Michael Gration have worked very hard to accommodate our requests and requirements. Their subcontractors and suppliers have been excellent and we hope they may tender for Phase 2 in due course.

The Bubwith Leisure and Sports Centre is very important to the life of our parish and surrounding areas and without the support above it would not function and this would impact on all local residents, if closed the Parish Council would doubtless have to consider running the Centre with a potential increase in hiring charges.

To all our Donors and Volunteers – A Big Thank You!

Bubwith Parish Council is working to support Bubwith Leisure and Sports Centre to improve facilities for users by applying for grants on their behalf.

Update of CCTV

We are delighted to announce the The Two Ridings Community Foundation and East Riding Crime Reduction Fund (www.trcf.org.uk) have awarded us a grant to enable us to upgrade our CCTV system to modern standards. The East Riding Crime Reduction Fund has been established by the East Riding Community Safety Partnership, with funding provided by Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner and aims to provide grants for projects that will provide sustainable solutions to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This will be a massive improvement to our facilities, and together with upgrades to our disabled toilet and sports officials changing room, our kitchen and our lounge area, this will make Bubwith Sports and Leisure Centre a more attractive and safe venue for our users. Work to upgrade the CCTV will be completed by early April 2019.
