Bubwith Community Youth Club
Bubwith Community Youth Club
A tuck shop is available during the evening. You will need to register your child when attending for the first time and parents need to sign the form. Free entry for your child if you as a parent would like to volunteer.
Our Youth Leaders are Jemma and Michelle.
Who are we?
Bubwith Community Youth Club is open to any young person aged 7 to 16 years of age who live within the Parish of Bubwith and the surrounding rural communities.
It is run by volunteers.
Some of our older members are on the Youth Council, they meet and discuss the sort of things they would like to see happening at Youth Club. They suggest activities that other members have requested.
What do we do?
We listen to our members and try to provide the activities they ask for!
There is usually an art and or craft activity sometimes related to a festival/special occasion. We have gymnastic mats and a crash mat, basketball posts and nets, table tennis table, table football and a pool table. We do cooking, clay work and run a tuck shop with drinks and sweets.
The serious stuff!
The club is accredited with the East Riding and this means we have adopted recognised policies and practices in Health and Safety, Equal Opps and Anti Bullying. We do risk assessments and have a system for reporting and recording accidents.
The club has adopted the ERSCB/ERCYS Good Practice Guidelines for Safeguarding Children in Voluntary Organisations.
Two volunteers have successfully completed the online training for safeguarding children through the ERSCB Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect – Foundation V4 and have recently updated this qualification (Safeguarding children refresher V2.1) They have also recently completed the online training Keep Them Safe – Protecting Children from Sexual Exploitation V2.
Our volunteers are DBS screened and we are currently (Dec 2017) organising First Aid training for them.
